Kirtan is an immersive group meditation from the yoga tradition, incorporating nourishing and uplifting prayer, song and dance for healing and purification on the deepest level. Kirtan is considered the most potent form of meditation in this day and age. Bathing in and singing these powerful transcendental sound vibrations cleanses the heart and the mind and brings peace to the soul.
Hosted by kirtan artist and meditation teacher Chay Tanya Lila and backed by a full band of dedicated kirtan musicians, this will be a night to remember. We invite you to rest your mind in spiritual sound vibrations, let your heart soar and release any baggage on the path to returning home to your original spiritual consciousness. Let these sacred sounds in beautiful three part harmonies inspire you to open your heart and lift your voice.
We open our meditation with a guided breathing practice and a resonant mantra circle that takes you deep into a meditative space. Then, sing along with ancient mantras in a call and response format. Come listen, soak up the vibes, sing along and dance if the spirit moves you!
Beginners are highly encouraged, all ages, voices and experiences welcome!
Accessibility: The venue is ADA accessible. We have floor pillows and some seating. If you aren't comfortable sitting on the floor, please come on the earlier side to reserve a chair. Street parking is available plus there is an onsite car park.
How to support: A $10-15 suggested dana-donation will help us cover the cost of the venue and bringing this amazing band to the Pacific Northwest (NOTAFLOF).
