Arizona’s premiere kirtan ensemble will visit YCSL for an inspirational evening of music and manta on November 30. These accomplished musicians are friends of our beloved Swami Sankarananda, who will be speaking that Sunday during YCSL’s 10 AM service. The Infinite Compassion Orchestra is devoted to Bhakti Yoga and “connecting with the Divine within ourselves and each other through sacred mantras and music.”
Their instruments include the harmonium, drums, flute, Indian bajo, upright bass and violin.
The concert is set for 5 PM at the center, with a love offering accepted as admission. That support truly helps the musicians with travel expenses.

How the Infinite Compassion Orchestra describes the sacred music it creates:
“Kirtan is an ancient devotional practice that uses singing of mantras (japa). It is also known as Bhakti Yoga — the yoga of devotion, or the yoga of love. When ancient Sanskrit mantras are wrapped in luscious layers of music, the result is a treat for all the senses that can have a profound impact on your well-being. Kirtan is known to open the heart chakra unlike any other practice, allowing you to connect with your true nature, as well as others.”
