Kirtan: Communal Singing & ReverieStep into the heart of yoga’s devotional side with this uplifting practice of call-and-response chanting. Kirtan comes from the Bhakti yoga tradition, often called the yoga of devotion, which uses music, mantra (sacred sound), and community to open the heart and quiet the mind.
No singing experience is needed, and you don’t need to know the language of the mantras.
Together, we’ll simply listen, repeat, and let the rhythmic melodies carry us into a shared space of joy, stillness, and connection. Some people find kirtan energizing, others find it deeply calming. It’s less about performance and more about presence.
Whether you’re curious about how sound can be part of a yoga practice, or you simply enjoy the beauty of singing together, this is an invitation to gather in community, lift our voices, and explore the transformative power of sound.
