About this Event
In partnership with The York Ghost Merchants, don't miss this special 'after hours' event at York Castle Museum on Friday 1 November 2024.
Visit Kirkgate, one of the oldest recreated indoor streets of its kind in the world and the first to be opened in Britain. It is a detailed recreation of a Victorian era high street and features shops which existed in York from 1870 until 1901.
Wander this atmospheric street and its back lanes and try and count the York Ghosts that dwell there.
New for 2024, as well as counting the York Ghosts, you are invited to also count the total number of York Ghosts in specially created hats!
There will be a specially created Kirkgate Ghost for the three entries which are closest to the correct totals.
A tally sheet/entry form will be available from the museum on entry with all the details.
Visitors can choose from two time slots, each giving you 1 hour to find and count the York Ghosts and Ghosts with hats!
Time slot
6pm-7pm (another slot is available at 7.30 pm - see separate Eventbrite listing)
Pre-booking is essential. We advise you arrive 10 minutes in advance of your entry time. Please have your printed ticket or QR code on your device ready to show staff.
