Kirk Edward Nairn, an Abingdon High school student, lost his life in a tragic traffic accident on May 16, 2019 - less than 24 hours before his high school graduation. Known for his spirituality, loving relationships with those with special needs, and charismatic personality, Kirk has been remembered and memorialized through the endowed Kirk Edward Nairn Memorial Scholarship, which has awarded over $300K in scholarships over the last 6 years. Kirk was a stand-out three sport athlete, exceptional scholar, and recipient of a national four-year ROTC scholarship to his beloved University of Kentucky.
