About this Event
Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, silver, or platinum, and dates back to the late 15th century. A military ruler sent one of his tea bowls back to China to be repaired. Upon its' return, he was disappointed and sent it to a local craftsman to find a more aesthetic method of repair. Rather than trying to hide the damage, Kintsugi highlights the repair. This can be practiced within the mental health spaces. The imperfections are what make us beautiful and valuable.
