About this Event

kinoko: lonely arts club

A monthly art club to support mental wellbeing through a nurturing and creative community.

Start Date: Sunday, April 13th, 2025 at 2-3:30pm

Unwind and connect with others in a nurturing and creating environment to support your wellbeing. Each week we will spotlight a different artist or movement that will inspire that creative task for the day. The workshop is crafted to promote relaxation, self-soothing and reflection, all while fostering meaningful community bonds. No prior art experience needed, the primary focus will be on connection and self-expression. All art materials will be provided.

Solo and groups encouraged!

Each session will follow the sequence:

Check-in: 20 mins

Art Exercise: 50 mins

Check out: 20 mins

Hosted by Emily (she/her) (Msc, PGDip, BA) a Trainee Art Psychotherapist and Mental Wellbeing Coach working in the NHS and at MIND to challenge health inequalities and support marginalised groups, such as POC, members of the LGBTQIA+ community and those with mental and physical disabilities. Initial studies in History of Art in a dual degree at UCL and SOAS and qualified yoga teacher.

Co-founder of kinoko, a community organisation formed to support mental wellbeing through a nurturing and creative community rooted in nature. Emily and Ruby (Co-founder) decided to bring kinoko into fruition out of frustration at the lack of community and mental health support available through traditional channels. We believe in the healing potential of nuturing and supportive communities as well as the healing power of the arts and nature.
