94 minutes | FSK0 | Animation | Japan 2010 Thumbelina, or Borger Arrietty, lives with her father and mother hidden under the porch of the family home of twelve-year-old human boy Sho. If the life of the tiny creatures is not easy anyway due to cat and crow attacks, Arrietty's family is also forced to move after the first eye contact between her and Sho, as prescribed by an old Borger law. But Sho is looking for another way, even though his insidious great-aunt is hunting down the Borger community.

Däumline bzw. Borgerin Arrietty lebt mit Vater und Mutter versteckt unter der Veranda des Familienhauses des zwölfjährigen Menschenjungen Sho. Ist das Leben der Winzlinge aufgrund von Katzen- und Krähenattacken ohnehin nicht leicht, ist Arriettys Familie nach dem ersten Blickkontakt zwischen ihr und Sho zudem zum Umzug gezwungen, wie es ein altes Borgergesetz vorschreibt. Doch Sho sucht nach einem anderen Weg, auch wenn seine heimtückische Großtante Jagd auf die Borgergemeinschaft macht.
