Join us for our last public meeting for Phase 1 of the Kings Highway Corridor before the recommendations are delivered to the city!This next session, set for Saturday, November 16th from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Centenary College's Whited Room at Bynum Commons will reveal the design team's recommendations for improvements to Kings Highway for Phase 1 and allow the public another opportunity to give input on the plan.
Additionally, we will discuss ways to work with private landowners and businesses to improve connectivity from the public sidewalks and roadway to their storefronts.
Meeting Details: Saturday, November 16th, 10:00 a.m. – Noon at Centenary College's Whited Room at Bynum Commons. Light refreshments will be provided.
Key Focus Areas for the November 16th Meeting:
-Final Street Design Review: Look at the design team's recommendations based on your previous input.
-Business Connectivity: Exploring strategies to stimulate local business investment in connecting their spaces with the pedestrian space
The Kings Highway Coalition, made up of neighborhood groups, local institutions like Centenary College, and community organizations, continues to encourage residents, property owners, and businesses to attend these meetings and contribute their input.
With a short-term improvement plan set for implementation in Spring 2025 and a longer-term vision targeting major changes from Youree Drive to Samford Ave in 2027, the coalition’s work aims to significantly enhance the area’s infrastructure and quality of life. Community feedback remains a central part of shaping these plans.
