To celebrate Kingitanga Day and the Maori Queen and a day off classes, we are doing our annual tramp up Mt Te Aroha. The second tallest mountain in the region. The mountain is nearly 1,000 meters in elevation and takes about 6 hours return. It is steep, but a constant steepness to the top. From the top you can see a large part of the North Island and it probably the best view in the whole region.
We will be leaving the University at Gate 1 at 8am (normal place, by Student Health), to arrive at the track start by 9 am. We should be back at the Uni by 4:30-5pm at the latest.
The cost of the trip will be $15 for van hire and must be paid before Monday 8th at 5pm to the club account 12-3171-0032895-00. Proof of payment (screenshot of transfer) should be sent to [email protected]. If you wish to pay in cash, please email that email address to promise that you will pay on the day of the trip.
Trip will be led by Josh, with Phoenix and Troy 2IC on the track.
