About this Event
Come along to the King St Book Club and join us for an evening of lively and in-depth discussion of James by Percival Everett - the powerful reimagining of The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn from the Booker-shortlisted author of The Trees.
James is an enthralling and ferociously funny novel that leaves an indelible mark, forcing us to see Mark Twain’s The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn in a wholly new and transformative light.
'Percival Everett is a giant of American letters, and James is a canon-shatteringly great book' – Hernan Diaz, Pulitzer Prize-winning author of Trust
The book and conversation facilitated by Avid Reader's Bookclubs Manager, Jennifer Stephens, a glass of wine, and tastes of King Street are all included in your book club ticket.
This month we will meet at Fat Dumpling, and enjoy their delicious food as we discuss our book of the month.
Current Book Club members will collect their book at our July meeting at 3Bros Korean Bistro and new members will be contacted to confirm collection from King St, Bowen Hills or Avid Reader, West End.
