SA’s premier Freestyle Motocross event returns for another thrilling event at Montecasino.Following two successful and sold-out events at Montecasino, the Freestyle Motocross extravaganza returns this November. Witness South Africa’s best take on the world’s best Motocross and Freestyle Motocross riders as they battle it out in the King of the Whip - Best Whip and FMX Best Trick contests on 23 November 2024 at Montecasino.
Who’ll be crowned King of the Whip?
Stay tuned to the King of the Whip socials for International Rider announcements – expect some of the biggest names in the sport at this year’s event!
Doors open at 2pm with proceedings set to kick off at 4pm and continue into the evening with the final showdown taking place under the night skies and flashes of pyrotechnics.
Riders scoring enough points through the Best Whip qualifying rounds will advance to the semi-finals and finals. Judges will be taking style, amplitude and variation in account when allocating scores. The FMX Best Trick contest will feature both right-side up and up-side down trick categories.
Three times X-Games medallist, Julien Vanstippen (Belguim) will be looking to claim the Best Whip crown for the third year in a row. Edgar Torronteras (Spain) finished in 2nd place in 2023 followed by South Africa’s Dallan Godman in 3rd. The Best Trick contest was won by Marc Pinyol (Spain) with his insane California Roll.
