Delivering an irrepressible rhythmical energy and drawing on
influences from across West Africa, from coastal Gambian
highlife to reggae, afrobeat to deep Saharan Desert blues, King
fuses the centuries old traditions of West Africa with
contemporary styles, creating a vibrant blend of irresistible
dance music.
The Tamala Express is an 15 piece band featuring traditional
West African string instruments Kora and Kamelngoni, a
vibrant horn section and African dancers.
With elements of afrobeat, funk, latin, reggae, dance-hall and
jazz it’s a modern mix, underpinned by the deep roots of the
traditional rhythms and melodies of Kings Manding heritage.
