About this Event
Join the 2030 District and King County Wastewater for a guided walking tour of the South Treatment Plant. Follow the path of a “drop of water” through the facility and experience the wastewater treatment process firsthand, with a focus on sustainability and resource recovery.
What to Expect:
- Guided Tour: Guided “drop of water” tour through the treatment process
- Learn: Sustainability practices including recycled water, biosolids, and biogas
- Walking: Approximately ½ mile, mostly outdoors, with a few stairs
- Introduction & Overview: We'll be gathering in the administration building classroom before the tour
- Network: Connect with sustainability professionals, ask questions, and share ideas
Logistics & Requirements:
- Attire: Closed-toe shoes and long pants required
- Dress for weather: Warm, waterproof layers recommended
- PPE: Safety vest, glasses, and hard hat (provided)
- Waiver: Required upon arrival
Detailed driving and parking instructions will be sent to registered attendees the day prior to the event.
