This annual film festival features films that celebrate this art form’s best attributes: dynamic dance performances, inspiring choreography, and inventive cinematography. This year's festival features 10 short films hailing from Finland, Spain, Hong Kong, Portugal, France, and the USA.
Join us for the 13th annual festival IN BILLINGS! Which includes a post screening talkback with festival director Joy French of West Side Theater/Bare Bait Dance who is traveling from Missoula to introduce the films AND! You’ll also get to meet members of our own Billings dance community. Dance artists from Arc a Montana Dance Collective will be stopping by to share what they have coming to the stage this season.
About KFF: Created in 2013, the festival consistently presents the best of screendance from around the world. Kinetoscope started as a screening partner with Sans Souci Festival of Dance Cinema (Boulder, CO). During the past festivals, we have screened hundreds of international dance films for Montana’s vastly underserved dance audiences. The festival is presented and curated by Montana’s only full-season professional dance company, Bare Bait Dance. Our primary intent is to screen films that exemplify the most exciting and innovative video and dance collaborations from around the world. We celebrate the diversity in the screendance field and are open to films with a variety of styles, themes, and approaches.
