We're excited to lead a deep dive into principles and material from the Axis Syllabus, inspired by Frey Faust and our international community of teachers. Expect a focus on biomechanics, self-sensing / somatics, movement meditations, dynamic dancing and a vibrant, shared field of physical expression.
Suitable for those with a movement, dance or exercise practice. Open to all levels.

TICKETS
Buying a ticket counts as a Reservation Fee and reserves your spot on both days, Feb 8 & 9. This ticket is non-refundable.
An additional Class Fee is due at the event and includes all classes:
-$115 if you register by January 8 ($165 total)

“Alchemy of Walking” with Miranda: foot anatomy, movement meditations, the human gait cycle, rebound, dance
“Social Situations” with Sebastian: contact puzzles, mutual climbing, ancestral postures
“Build Ramps Not Walls” with Both: ground navigation, quadrupedal tech, the serpentine spine, dynamic elevation

ABOUT
Sebastian Grubb
Sebastian is an award-winning dance artist and movement coach based in Northern Europe and California. He grew up running in the mountains of Santa Cruz, then majored in philosophy while falling in love with modern dance. Sebastian has been teaching dance and biomechanics since 2007. He also choreographed, performed and toured contemporary dance works throughout the U.S. and overseas from 2007-2019. From 2008-2024 he ran Sebastian's Functional Fitness, an outdoor workout company in San Francisco. In 2011 Sebastian became a certified Axis Syllabus Teacher and in 2018 he founded AGILE BEAST, an updated movement training program for modern human primates. Sebastian now teaches integrated movement and applied anatomy to movers of all kinds via 1:1 coaching and group workshops that emphasize deep sensing, technical refinement, and community. www.bodywagging.dance & www.sebastian.fit
Miranda Janeschild
Since 2005 Miranda has been a teacher of the Axis Syllabus© as well as a certified Feldenkrais® practitioner. As a Pediatric Occupational Therapist for 35 years she specializes in working with at-risk infants and children with neuro-muscular and sensory processing disorders. Currently, she is a MFA Candidate for Creative Writing at Vermont College of Fine Arts. Miranda is a story-teller weighted in the portrayal of the human condition whether on the page or the stage. She has a long history of collaborating with actors, dancers, musicians, circus artists, and improvisational performers as the Artistic Director of a theatrical aerial dance company, Mir & A Company.
