About this Event
Kimpton Folk Festival

Saturday 6th JULY 2024

Once again, Kimpton Folk Festival will showcase some of the finest folk acts around.

We are delighted to announce our first acts for 2024.

Our evening concert will feature Brooks Williams & Dan Walsh followed by Melrose Quartet.

Melrose Quartet perform a diverse repertoire – carousing chorus songs, lively dance tunes, ancient stories and modern pieces written in celebration of everything from weddings & birthdays to issues that affect all of our 21st century lives. This is music for everybody. All four are internationally renowned singers, instrumentalists, writer/composers and teachers. James Fagan and Nancy Kerr are patrons of Kimpton Folk Festival, and are delighted to bring the Melrose Quartet to headline our evening concert this year.

Brooks Williams, originally from Statesboro Georgia US but now based in Cambridge UK, will bring his exceptional guitar skills as he effortlessly slides in and out of folk, blues and country. It comes as no surprise he is listed in the Top 100 Acoustic Guitarists.

Dan Walsh, who you might remember playing with the Urban Folk Quartet at Kimpton last year, delivers British, Irish and American folk music with a healthy dose of funky grooves – all performed with his unique and dazzling take on clawhammer style banjo, helping to challenge all preconceptions about the instrument

We are truly excited at the prospect of Brooks and Dan bringing these skllls together to play for you at Kimpton Folk Festival 2024.

Look out for further exciting artist announcements as we finalise our usual fantastic festival roster...but don't hang about...our outstanding value Super Early offer won't last forever.

Don't forget there is plenty of free music and activities in the village during the festival...

Take your time to stroll around all of the venues, serenaded by buskers as you go. Visit The Boot pub for traditional open sessions, then stop off at the Village Green stage, where there will be free music and dance all afternoon along with a full range of artisan street food stalls, real ales bars and craft stalls. There’s entertainment for all the family at nearby Garden Fields and music workshops in the Dacre Rooms.

ALL DAY tickets allow you to see ALL of the concerts on offer as they are staggered and with just a short walk between each venue.

AFTERNOON tickets allow you to see concerts 1, 2 and 3.

EVENING tickets allow you to see our final concert from 8:30pm.
