About this Event

About this lecture:

The perfect precursor lecture to future Kimono dressing classes. Learn about the foundational garments and tools needed before you put on your Kimono that you have. This lecture will cover the difference between a hada juban and a juban, the need for these unseen garments, as well as introducing undergarment dressing aids like towels for padding and shaping the body for a proper kimono silhouette. There will be samples of many different types of Kimono undergarments and foundational dressing tools to show the participants and discuss their uses. Undergarment options for people who do not have access to kimono specific items from Japan will also be discussed.
