About this Event
The Kim T. Adamson Lecture in International Studies has brought recognizable figures in international studies, military history, and related fields to campus since 2001. As the world becomes increasingly globalized and polarized, complicated issues face us every day and building our capacity to have thoughtful and reflective conversations matters more than ever.
Genesis Be serves as Global Ambassador for Moral Courage, a venture that equips people to turn heated issues into healthy conversations and sustained collaboration. She came to this role after co-starring in the award-winning documentary, “Mississippi Turning.” Slated for public release in 2025, MT follows Genesis as she protests Confederate Heritage Month, faces backlash, and then discovers the power of a paradox: that she can stand her ground and, at the same time, create common ground.
This event includes a screening of this superb film with Genesis followed by a workshop on the skills needed for constructive dialog.
