Sound Medicine Journey with Tommy / The Sonic Den
Tommy is a former international recording and touring musician, current Education Music specialist, and fully certified / insured Therapeutic Sound Practitioner from Loch Lomond, Scotland who will guide you through a beautiful sound medicine journey under the wonderful Killearn gardens stretch-tent into a state of sonic bliss.
So what is a Therapeutic Sound Bath?
A Therapeutic Sound Bath is a deeply-immersive, full-body listening experience that intentionally uses sound to invite gentle yet powerful therapeutic and restorative processes in the mind and body.
There is no effort required. There is nothing for you to do but switch off and unwind as Tommy from The Sonic Den takes you on a journey to a place of deep restorative rest, inner calm and harmony.
What do I need to do?
The experience begins with each person lying down on their Yoga mat or sitting in a comfortable position, often with a blanket and pillows for extra comfort. After a few minutes of mindful breathing, visualisation and intention setting you are taken on a sonic experience filled with the sounds, vibrations and frequencies of various overtone-emitting instruments, including Himalayan Singing Bowls, Crystal Singing Bowls, Gong, HandPan, Frame Drum, Koshi Chimes, Flow Chimes, Ocean Drum, Native American Flutes, Shruti Box and softly sung mantra vocals.
When you sink into a Sound Bath experience with Tommy from The Sonic Den your awareness shifts and your brainwave activity slows from the active mind into a more relaxed Theta or Alpha Brainwave state. The sounds introduced during a Sound Bath are an invitation into a deeper state of consciousness. An opportunity to unfurl and unplug from external stimuli, gain perspective on what’s going on within you and engage the bodies natural healing systems.
Proven benefits of Therapeutic Sound can include:
Reduced stress & anxiety
Inner peace and serenity
Reduced pain, anxiety & fatigue
Improved mood and focus
