About this Event
Todays' guide is Kiki de Montparnasse, the model and muse of many famous artists of Paris during the roaring 20s (that's 1920's!)
Kiki inspired a lot of the avant-garde artists of the era by not only posing for them, but as the central social figure between surrealists, poets, writers, and artists alike. Everyone wanted to hang out with Kiki! She was a major figure of the Paris of 1920-1930, and a painter in her own right, having had one solo exhibit of her own in Paris before she died.
Today, Kiki will be time-traveling all the way from 1920s Paris, France, as she leads us in a storytelling and mini art history session, illuminating the relationships between painter and lover like Picasso's "Woman With a Book" and Modigliani's "Portrait of the Artist's Wife Jeanne Hebuterne". Hear the scandals and salacious details that made up some of the best stories of the time.
If inspired, Kiki might even sing us a song or two (en Français!)
