What's better than ART & JAZZ on a Friday night ??
Your guide today is KIKI DE MONTPARNASSE, the model and muse of many famous artists of Paris during the roaring 20s jazz age.
Kiki inspired many of the avant-garde artists by not only posing for them, but as the central figure (the "IT" girl) connecting the expressionists and surrealist movements, poets, artists, and writers alike. From Picasso, to Matisse, to the troubled and tragic life of Amadeo Modigliani, Kiki was there to witness it all! Even Ernest Hemingway wrote an introduction for Kiki's memoirs which forever immortalized the wild times of an incredible era in French art.
Today, Kiki will be time-traveling all the way from 1920's Paris, France, as she leads us in a storytelling and mini art history session, illuminating the relationships between painter and lovers. We will cover Picasso, and Modigliani, and a bit of Matisse. Hear salacious details behind the paintings, and some of the more tragic circumstances that haunted the art world, and turned these artists into forever legends.
After the private tour, enjoy some live JAZZ offered out on the museum courtyard!
