The critically acclaimed and award-winning Kidz Danz Kompany, San Diego’s premier children’s dance company, presents “History”, at the MP Dance Performance Space (8674 La Mesa Blvd, La Mesa, CA 91942) on September 19-20, 2025 @ 7pm. Join us for an evening of dance that is retrospective and celebratory of the rich legacy of KDK through standout works from its earliest days to the present. This performance brings together dancers of all levels to honor KDK's past, present, and future. Featured pieces include The Opener, a lively chair routine choreographed by Spencer John Powell and first performed by Kidz Danz Kompany in 1994 as the opening piece. The heartfelt Letter to Parents returns to the stage, exploring a child's determination to dream despite doubt. I'm Still Here choreographed by Emily Navarro gives voice to the experience of homelessness in children, while Yasmina Devos brings a new work entitled Continuum which captures the sensation of life passing by. Caley Hernandez brings hope and joy with Lost in Paradise, which features new and experienced dancers en pointe. For a full night of dance, KDK is excited to also include a positive dance piece with our Arts4Us program.
