Pay homage to artist George Rodrigue and learn to paint a blue dog!
About this Event

Join ACR's own Barbara Paris for a morning of painting and exploration! In this class, we will learn to draw and then paint in a blue dog in the style of George Rodrigue on a reuse stretched canvas. While we are waiting for the painting to dry we will dig through the bucket area to find treasures to accessorize our canvas, creating the perfect masterpiece!

This workshop is best enjoyed by those ages 4-15 years old. Drop the kids off and enjoy your Sunday morning to yourself!

About the Instructor:

Barbara Paris’s work can be found in many public and private art collections throughout North and South America.

Currently based in Austin, Texas, she was born in New York City and raised in New Jersey. Barbara received her B.A. in Art Education and B.F.A. in Studio Art from the University of Massachusetts.

Barbara describes her work as intention. That is, she puts the paint where it belongs and the paint goes on to become what it is. She works with strong color and texture, adding elements such as glass and paper to the canvas, the purpose of which is to surround herself with things that make her feel good, and to share that feeling with others.

See more of Barbara's art at her website.
