Programs will be held inside Paynetown State Recreation Area, no registration needed - just show up! Both programs are free, but there is a fee to enter the park: $7 per vehicle with Indiana license plates ($9 with out-of-state plates), Indiana State Park entrances passes also accepted.

Woodland Scavenger Hunt from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Paynetown SRA: Trailhead (next to Overflow Parking Area)
Ready to roll over logs, peek under rocks, and search inside tree cavities? We’ll equip you with a magnifying lens and useful tips to help you locate critters and crawlies in the forest. Will you be able to find everything on the list before time runs out? You can start looking anytime between 9:30 and 11 a.m. – but time’s up at 11:30 a.m. PRIZES!
Beaded Frog Keychain at 1:00 p.m.
Paynetown SRA: Activity Center, Amphitheater
Please arrive on time! We’ll share the songs of the frogs still singing in May, teach you tricks for remembering their calls, and then guide you in making a beaded frog keychain. The craft is best suited for ages 10 and up; most younger children will need an adult helper. 45 to 60 minutes

Kids to Parks Day is a national day of outdoor play celebrated annually on the third Saturday of May. The day connects kids and families with their local, state, and national parks and public lands through thousands of park events that promote discovery and exploration in the great outdoors.
