Kids Theater Class: The Thanksgiving Play Extravaganza! (ages 7-12) (Thurs, 9/19-11/14, No 10/31, 4:30-6pm)Welcome to our Kid's Theater Class, where creativity, fun, and learning come together! In this program, kids ages 7-12 will embark on a magical journey into the world of theater, culminating in a special performance of a Thanksgiving play.
Over the course of 8 weeks, young actors will:
- Explore Acting Basics: Learn the fundamentals of acting, including voice projection, expression, and stage presence.
- Build Confidence: Through engaging games and activities, sudents will gain confidence in performing and speaking in front of an audience.
- Work as a Team: Collaboration and teamwork are key as students work together to bring theri characters and scenes to life.
- Create Costumes and Props: Get hands-on with creative projects, designing and making costumes and props for the big show.
- Learn the Script: Practice adn memorize lines, understand character motivations, and perfrect timing for a seamless performance.
The highlight of the class will be the final week, when our talented young actors will present a heart warming Thanksgiving play for family and friends. This delightful performance will showcase their hard work and newly developed skills, making it a memorable event for everyone involved.

*This class will have the option of using the Annex Gym with Stage and/or the Outdoor Stage behind the Annex to practice.

Instructor: Kate Teichman
Kate has her B.F.A. in theater from Ohio University and is an iO! Chicago trained improviser. Kate has worked as a teaching artist, performer, and director for almost 20 years. She has taught both kid and adult classes in schools, theater organizations and hospital settings. She loves helping people tap into their creativity and cannot wait for all the hilarious things you are going to say next!
