Drop your budding artists off to play with clay this summer. Purchase it by the day here on Event brite or head to the studio's website at www.salishseaceramicstudio.com to purchase the whole week. In this Morning Summer camp we will be getting artsy. If you have a child that enjoys sitting quietly and making art and needs to be talked into sports, then we have the camp for you! We have some great memories with the kids making clay stuff and this will be our 3rd summer running camps!
We will offer fun projects to build skill with clay techniques and familiarity with tools.
Daily Routine
9:30-10:00am. Settle in and check on previous day projects
or instruction on project for the day
10:00-11:00 am Clay build and art
11:00-11:30 Included snack time and outside play time
11:30-12:00. Decorate project
12:00-12:30 finish project and clean up for the day.
12:30pm Pick Up with friends and family.
Processes will include pinch pots, coil building, slap building and attaching clay, we will even introduce them to the wheel (2nd day). Our other curriculum includes fun projects geared at catching all of the imaginary monsters! Below is a loose outline of each days projects.
Morning Clay Camp Itinerary.
Day 1: Gotta catch them all.
Day 2: Two Toned Leaf Vases and impressions
Day 3: Intro to Wheel Throwing and Clean Up. Continue working on Pokemon.
Day 4: Finishing up projects and painting them.
Having fun, getting creative and understanding the clay properties will be the focus of Clay Camp. Students will decorate their projects with underglazes on greenware and fired to midrange cone 5. No experience necessary and a wide range of ages accepted. We do ask parents to assess their kids individually in order to follow directions and have adequate attention span to sit and focus on projects for the 2.5 hour class. We know kids will be kids though and have lots of time to take breaks and pet the dog. Clay Projects will be ready about a month after class is finished. PLEASE COME GET YOUR CHILDS MASTERPIECES!!! THEY ARE SO CUTE AND FULL OF MEMORIES. It is so fun to see the finished pieces of art and we want you to experience that!
