Calling all young creatives! Whether you’ve never picked up a crochet hook or you’re just curious about how yarn turns into something magical, this beginner-friendly class is the perfect place to start.
In Kids Learn to Crochet, we’ll go over the very basics and build a strong foundation for future projects.
Kids will learn:
How to hold their hook comfortably
How to manage yarn tension
How to make a slipknot and chain (CH)
How to move into the second row with single crochet stitches (SC)
How to turn rows and keep their shape neat and tidy
We’ll also talk about “the snake”—that long, wiggly chain that everyone finds a little tricky at first. Yes, it can be frustrating, but it’s also the most important motion in all of crochet. We encourage patience, practice, and plenty of fun as kids get the hang of it. Crocheting takes time to learn, but once it clicks, there’s no stopping what they can create!
This class is designed to be hands-on, supportive, and paced just right for beginners. All supplies are included, and each child will leave with new skills, confidence, and a great start to their crochet journey.
The yarn and hooks will be provided to learn. You will be given a skein of yarn from the inventory to take with you. We will determine the complimentary hook size before you leave.
