**Due to an increase in labor and food cost, kids in the kitchen is now $15/kid. We apologize for any inconvenience.
This class is recommended for kids ages 4-12 years old; parents can either leave during this hour-long class to shop or stay! Each class is limited to the first 20 participants and is taught in our clubroom (towards the back of the store, in between deli and bakery). Please pre-register/pre-pay on Eventbrite to hold your spot or come in store to pay at customer service. Payment at customer service bypasses the Eventbrite fee.

Once you and your kiddos arrive at Hy-Vee, make your way back to the Club Room and pick a table to start at. Each kid will make every recipe, so start wherever you would like! Each table seats 4-5 kids. We will start class off with a fun new food to try, like cotton candy grapes, pink watermelon, and jicama. After tasting, we get started with our recipes. All recipes will be made individually at the child's seat and each recipe takes around 10 minutes to make. Kids will be given butterknives at the start of class and will carry their knife with them throughout the class. We will also go over some house rules.
Some recipes may require the use of a microwave or blender; these recipes will have a designated helper. The dietitian and helpers will be in the room to help the children with recipes if needed. Afterwards, your child will be given a recipe sheet to take home with them to keep creating fun recipes for the future!
Hand sanitizer or hand-washing will be required prior to the start of the class and encouraged throughout as needed.

This class may contain any of the top 9 allergens. Refunds are not issued unless Audrey is notified of the cancellation prior to the start of the class. There is a minimum of 5 children to hold the class and refunds will be issued if we don't have enough participants. Refunds will also be issued if the dietitian is not able to teach the class due to illness.
