There’s nothing like the thrill of a first catch! 🎣 Bring your young anglers to reel in a big one at Kid's Fishing Day. This fun-filled event is a great way for children to develop their fishing skills and explore the outdoors.📍 Registration begins at 8 a.m. at the Camp Carson Picnic Shelter and fishing is from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in a designated section of Wilson Creek.
🆓 Free (standard parking fee applies)
🧒 Open to children 12 and under only
🪪 No fishing license or permit required
‼️ All participants must register before fishing
🪝 Bring your own fishing gear and bait (not provided)
While fishing is underway, kids can also enjoy these hands-on activities at the Discovery Center:
🐟 Learn to identify local fish
🎨 Create colorful nature prints
🪢 Tie fishing knots in a workshop
🎣 Practice casting with a game
Whether your child is new to fishing or already loves the outdoors, this event is a great way to make memories, learn new skills and enjoy a day of family-friendly fun at Douthat State Park. 💙
