Maryland children and their families are facing significant challenges, mirroring national trends of increased absenteeism and declining school test scores, the 2024 KIDS COUNT Data Book shows. Maryland ranks 22nd among U.S. states in this year's Data Book.
Join us to learn more about what the data show about how kids and families are doing in Maryland, what factors are affecting well-being, and how recent and future policy changes can help improve outcomes for children.
MDCEP KIDS COUNT Director Nonso Umunna will provide an overview of this year's Data Book, followed by a discussion with an expert panel, moderated by MDCEP President and CEO Benjamin Orr.
