About the instructors: Shephali Jain /Yami Joshi / Tania Mirchandani
Shephali Jain is a kids dance instructor at Rangeela Dance Company in Los Angeles. She embarked on her dance journey at the age of three. Her formal training in Kathak during her formative years laid the foundation for her involvement in Bollywood performing groups, where she actively participated in skits and dance performances. More recently, she has ventured into choreographing dances for friends and family, finding particular joy in dancing alongside her own children. With a rich background in dance, Shephali looks forward to sharing her enthusiasm and skills with children. Her goal is to provide a creative outlet for their talents and foster a love for dance.

Shephali is thrilled at the prospect of meeting and working with all the young dancers at Rangeela and their families. Fun fact: Shephali is the mom of one of our students and loves to dance with her daughter!

Yami Joshi started her dance company Beatroot to stay in touch with her dance and spread the joy of moving together. She believes the world is a better place when we can be in sync, and what better to do than dance together? She is excited to use her experiences in Bollywood dancing (15+ years), Bharatanatyam certification (20+ years), and Odissi training (5 years) to share this ability in the community to bring out self-expression and build confidence through dance. As she was progressing through her corporate career, she loved all the chances she got to choreograph for weddings, dance for charity, and take dance classes in Salsa, Bachata, Contemporary, Zumba, and Kathak. Dance is her passion, and she wanted to get back into it full time, but could not make the time she wanted. In 2021, she began her education to become a R-DMT (Registered Dance Movement Therapy) at Kinections, a freestanding institute in the USA that offers all the dance/movement therapy courses required for certification. She left her corporate role in the summer 2021 and has been focusing full-time on her dance therapy certification as well as building Beatroot to teach dance around the world. In January 2023, she hosted her first dance class in Los Angeles (in-person and virtually).

Tania Mirchandani is a kids dance instructor at Rangeela Dance Company in Los Angeles. Tania's journey into dance began in her childhood, inspired by her mother's introduction to Bollywood music. She spent a decade in musical theatre before deepening her connection to her Punjabi heritage through bhangra performances at UC Berkeley. Even during her time at UCLA Anderson School of Management, she continued her passion for dance, starring in a short film and representing India on an international dance show. She now finds joy in choreographing and teaching Bollywood dance, especially to children, at events like the Sindhi Association Diwali Ball. Beyond dance, Tania is active in her community, having served as a trustee for the American India Foundation and now being part of the Arts for Healing and Justice Network board.
Tania is very excited to teach Bollywood dance and nurture the next generation of dancers at Rangeela Dance Company!
