What better way to add some flare to learning the basics of art than to put a cartoon spin on it? This class is perfect for the kid that loves to draw; loves anime or manga; or someone who wants to dive deeper into the "why" and "how" of good, fun art. This semester our older kids' art lessons (what we usually call "Practically Picassos" - ages 10-16) will focus on exploring elements of art through the lens of the kids' favorite cartoon. Kids will use a variety of art materials such as pen and ink, clay and glaze, acrylic paint, ink, alcohol markers, watercolor and more. This class doesn’t just teach the basics of art — it helps kids flex their creativity, express themselves, and learn to interpret the expression of others!
This special 9-week session will begin on Tuesday, Feb 3rd. Classes will be held weekly from 6:30-8pm and taught by part time 'stache instructor, Molly Kellam. Molly is also a librarian with Henry County and former visual arts teacher at St. Mary's Academy in Fayetteville.
TOTAL CLASS COST: $225 plus tax ($100 deposit at sign up and $125 on March 3)
