About this Event
A group of local high school students has come together to fundraise for the WOW Center!
Students from various local high schools can register to volunteer either as a team or individually, participating in a kickball tournament.
• If you choose to play kickball, your team will be paired with individuals from the WOW Center to compete in a tournament-style format.
• You can also volunteer to cheer on our teams and show your support!
If you are NOT high school student but are interested in volunteering, please email me for coaching opportunities at [email protected].
Every volunteer will receive a Kick It for WOW shirt and volunteer hours.
The goal of this event is to bring awareness, provide help and support to our Miami community, and pave the way for future high school students to get involved.
The WOW Center, previously known as Community Habilitation Center, was founded in 1972 by a small group of parents facing the reality that heir children with developmental disABILITIES did not have many options for continued education and development after high school.
The WOW Center is an Adult Day Training (ADT) center that currently supports and serves approximately 200 adults with developmental disABILITIES from Miami-Dade County who range in ages from 21 to 83. The goal of The WOW Center is to provide quality programs and empower individuals with developmental disabilities in order for them to lead meaningful and productive lives, explore their potential, develop a sense of community, and pursue independence and jobs if able.
