Khachapuri Trio comprises Beth Custer on clarinets/voice/composition and arrangements, David James on guitar/voice/compositions/arrangements, and Jess Ivry on cello/voice arrangements.
Khachapuri Trio performs works from the members' combined vast repertoires with arrangements of compositions by Chick Corea, Julius Hemphill, and Kurt Weill. Audiences delight at the virtuosity and tonal breadth that the combination of these three musicians provide.
Born out of a mutual love of the trio format combined with a life-changing tour of Tbilisi, Georgia where they performed together in The Beth Custer Ensemble at the Tbilisi International Film Festival, Custer's MY GRANDMOTHER score.
