Dear friends,I hope everyone had a wonderful summer! Now that fall has arrived, it’s exciting to think of the great music we are going to experience and share this season. I am looking forward to seeing all of you and to continue our KeyedUp experience. Mark your calendars for these three Saturday dates: October 26th, February 22nd, and May 10th. All concerts will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Tenri Cultural Institute.
This season will be filled with celebrations, premieres, and lots of great fun. We will kick off our series on Saturday, October 26th with a 60th Birthday celebration of Frank J. Oteri. Frank is a vital part of the musical world and has been an incredible ambassador of new music throughout the world. He is a friend to many and his writing on music has become the backbone of chronicling music of the 20th and 21st centuries. On October 26th we will have the opportunity of hearing some of Frank’s own compositions in a program of solo and duo piano music. I will be joined by pianist Trudy Chan - a champion and advocate of her husband Frank’s music - in a program that will include a world premiere of a new piano four-hand work by Frank, as well as the rarely heard Sonata for Four Hands by Ned Rorem.
