About this Event
“Clayton Norman is Greyville. To his core. His daughter loves him. His town respects him. Why? Because Clayton Norman is a man you can trust. Like his father before him. But Clayton sees change. His town is changing. And his daughter wants him to act on that change. And the town? Well, the wind is blowing. And if the wind blows too strong in Greyville…?”
From the team that brought Portland, Maine Rock ‘n Roll in 2019, Mars in 2022, and Anonymous: a tale of Mary Shelley in 2023, local playwright Kevin O’Leary aims his pen directly into the winds of change: globally, nationally, and, with God Less America, his new full-length, exceptionally locally— as he examines the forces that might spell the end of life as Greyville knows it.
God Less America stars O’Leary stalwarts Sean Ramey and Marie Stewart Harmon, as well as Whip Hubley, Noli French, Kat Moraros, and Josh Brassard. Portland Stage Company’s “Sweet Goats and Blueberry Senoritas” star, JL Rey, rounds out the cast.
The play is directed by James Hoban. There will be a 10 minute intermission between Act one and two.
God Less America is produced by Michael Howard, Kyle Hietala, and Big O Productions.
