Taking a day off from the world tour for his new documentary FILM SAFARI: GHANA, Andrew Leavold is bringing his trashbag cowpunk duo, the KETAMINE COWBOYS to Sydney for the first time. All the way from the unlikely underground music hotspot of Nambour, Queensland, the PUB: THE MOVIE and SEARCH FOR WENG WENG director is a graduate of the Fred Negro School for Punk Rock Frontmen, so expect plenty of laughs, larrikinism and outrageous shenanigans for 3 o’clock in the afternoon.
Partnering Leavold in the Kets is the Other Mick Turner, the Nambour Ned Kelly, not quite as accomplished an axe-master as his Dirty three namesake, but way funnier, with more yarns than a knitting factory, and with the blood of the bushranger running through his veins.
Also on the same bill, the one and only Pied Piper of the Sydney underground music and movie scene, Jay Katz is back in full MuMeson mode with a great new set of solo material. It’s all-singing, all-dancing, all-ranting! It’s Jay Katz as you’ve never seen him before.
Kicking off the afternoon is the one-of-a-kind up-and-comer Tom Adamson, a one-man 70s power-pop sensation with songs full of great singing, catchy hooks and fret-melting guitar solos.
