KERMET APIO was born and raised in Hawaii, then moved to Seattle to attend the University of Washington. In early 1989, Kermet hit his first open mic at Seattle's Comedy Underground. Stand-up was a fun hobby—right up until he quit his day job in 1990 and committed himself to comedy full-time. He's a past winner of both the Great American Comedy Festival and the Seattle Comedy Competition. He was a semi-finalist in the San Francisco Comedy Competition. Plus he's showcased at comedy festivals in Aspen, Las Vegas, and Vancouver. His Drybar comedy special "There's No 'I' in 'Self-Esteem'" is streaming now.
