Today, alt-rock risers Keo share their first official single, ‘I Lied, Amber’ via AWAL. The single follows an electrifying sold out show at London’s Oslo last night.‘I Lied, Amber’ is a powerful debut statement, combining raw, powerhouse vocals with complex layers of shoegazey guitars and a pummeling rhythm section. The grunge-y sonics take cues from legends like Jeff Buckley and Radiohead, while adding a modern twist that makes the track distinctly Keo. Commenting on their debut single, Keo say: “It’s about pretending to trust somebody and lying to yourself that you do. Letting your past relationships negatively dictate yourfuture ones but ultimately surrendering to the person with the knowledge that they have your heart in the palm of their hand.”
Spearheaded by brothers Finn (vocals, guitar) and Conor Keogh (bass), and completed by Oli Spackman (drums) and Jimmy Lanwern (guitar), the band have been a staple on the burgeoning live circuit, cementing themselves as one of the most exciting live acts around. Last year the band took to the stage at BST Hyde Park, sharing the bill with Kings of Leon, The Vaccines and Paolo Nutini, supported Nieve Ella on her European tour earlier this month, and will be supporting Birmingham rock outfit overpass on selected dates on their upcoming tour.
