Kent's biggest night of poetry is back on the road! We've stormed forts in Chatham, gazed out to sea in Dover, and spent an evening at the fairground in Margate and we're finsihing up our slam tour by hitting the cathedral city of Canterbury. A hotbed for slam in the county, it was here where many of us first cut our teeth in slams.Location: The Venue, University of Kent Canterbury

PLUS reigning Kent Poetry Champion Ciaran Barata-Hynes takes part in our first ever three-way-dance, against interim Champion Jake Nathan, and the winner of our Margate slam Sarah Bowman!
AND topping everything off, kicking things off rightly, our headliner for the evening is the sensational Vanessa Kisuule. Not only is Vanessa the winner of The Roundhouse Slam and Hammer and Tongue National Slam, she's also travelled to the illustrious Nuoryican Poetry Slam and won over there too. Her poem Hollow on the toppling of Edward Colston's statue in bristol racked up over 600,000 views in three days (proving poetry is a vital contemporary artform) and her show SEXY toured nationally. vanessa is one of the most talented poets going, and was host of the first poetry slam I (Connor) ever watched.
Slots are first come, first served with an 11th slot raffled off on the night for those who were slower on the draw.
Each poet has 3 minutes for their performance. No backing tracks nor props.
- Time starts as soon as they're in position on the stage.
- For every ten seconds over, 1 point will be deducted from their total.
- 3 judges will be raffled from the audience at the start of the show.
