About this Event
Is your Wisconsin criminal record making it harder to find employment? You may be eligible to clear or correct parts of your criminal record—for free.
If you live in Kenosha, Racine, or Walworth County, we may be able to help.
Join us at a FREE Background Check Clinic, offered by Legal Action of Wisconsin. This clinic is funded by a grant from Vital Strategies to help people living with or in recovery from substance use or opioid use disorder. Barriers to employment increase stress and instability. For people struggling with opioid use disorder or on the road to recovery, securing employment is key to avoiding stresses that can lead to overdose or relapse. This clinic is designed to help these individuals remove legal barriers to employment and find their way forward.
At this legal clinic, you will receive:
A free one-on-one review of your criminal record with an attorney.
Legal advice about your eligibility for:
- Expungement
- Arrest removal or correction
- Pardons
Help completing and filing paperwork, if you're eligible.
Information about your rights in employment and background checks.
Important: Pre-registration is required. Use the registration links above to sign up. Please arrive at your scheduled appointment time. If you arrive late, you may experience a longer wait before meeting with an attorney.
