Launching our Autumn 23' series, we welcome London-based duo Kenny Keppel & Evi Wang with their curated collection of musical treasures for clarinet and piano.

Kenny Keppel (clarinet)

Lauded for his “raw energy”, “remarkable sensitivity” and “agile poetry”, New Zealand-born clarinetist Kenny Keppel currently holds the position of Solo Clarinet in the Arctic Philharmonic in northern Norway. He has also performed in principal roles with the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, London Symphony Orchestra, The Hallé Orchestra, Orchestre National de Lille, Bergen Philharmonic, Turku Philharmonic and Auckland Philharmonia.

Kenny completed his undergraduate studies in his hometown of Auckland, before being awarded a full scholarship to the Australian National Academy of Music. In 2019, he completed his Master studies at the Norwegian Academy of Music, with professors Björn Nyman & Fredrik Fors.



Evi Wang (piano)

Swedish pianist Evi Wang, known for her "symphonic playing" and "mature and powerful interpretation", is beginning her Artist Diploma studies at Trinity Laban Conservatoire this year. As an active contemporary and collaborative pianist, Evi has made appearances at Wigmore Hall in London, Stoller Hall and Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, and has collaborated with Manchester Camerata, Psappha Ensemble, and Arctic Philharmonic.

She began playing at the age of 4 in Shanghai, moving to Sweden in 2008 to continue her studies. In 2019, Evi completed her undergraduate degree at the Norwegian Academy of Music with professors Kathryn Stott and Einar Henning Smebye, and recently completed a Master of Music degree at the Royal Northern College of Music, under Dr. Murray McLachlan.
