During his decade-long career of playing across the globe and connecting with musicians from most of the jazz scenes out there, bassist and composer Kenneth Dahl Knudsen has explored sounds of large ensembles both for big band, traditional music and classical music. So why start a new trio?
As a music scientist at the Danish Royal Academy of Music, Knudsen has been devoting the last four years to studying the borderland between ancient folk music and modern math. Within these untapped glaciers of knowledge is a path to developing the language of jazz.
But one thing is research and theory of musical DNA - another is to make the Music Mammoth come alive, roaring and wild. That is the reason for drafting two young prodigies of the Danish jazz scene: hip hop drum machine Matias Fischer and guitar phenomenon Casper Hejlesen.
And thus they need only a last component before they venture forth - YOU, the listener! Will you join KEMACA KINETIC as they explore the frontiers of rhythm?
