About this Event
Join us, the members and friends of Kelvingrove Writers, for the launch of our first ever collaborative group anthology, featuring the work of over twenty talented writers and artists. All profits made on book sales will be donated to the Sameer Project, a Palestinian-led mutual aid organisation delivering food, clean water, medical supplies, and safe refuge to displaced people in Gaza.
So come support local writers and help us raise as much money as we can. It’ll be a night of poetry, performances, snacks, solidarity, and community. The launch will be taking place at The House Arts Collective on Napiershall Street, which is about a 10 minute walk from St George's Cross subway station and accessible by bus.
The night will be BYOB and 18+, and we will have a small selection of light scran available. Payment for books can be taken through card payment or bank transfer. We can take a small number of cash payments, but we kindly request you bring exact change.
Thanks in advance for your support and generosity - we'll see you there!
Access information:
Our anthology will be priced on a sliding scale of £5/£7/£10, so you can choose how much you'd comfortably like to pay. If you feel this could be a barrier to your attendance, please email us and we’ll do what we can to accommodate.
The House has an accessible toilet on the ground level, and there is a purpose-built ramp available upon request that can allow wide access entry for wheelchair users through the double doors. Please get in touch if you would like to use the ramp.
Please note that, depending on numbers, the venue can get quite busy and crowded, which may limit leg room. Please also note that lighting in the venue may be quite dim.
If you would like to reserve a seat (e.g. near the front, at the back, on the end of a row), drop us an email.
If you have any other accessibility concerns, please get in touch.
Who we are:
Kelvingrove Writers is a writing group and literary community based in the west end of Glasgow. First established in 2022, our ambition is to provide local writers with a dedicated time and space to work on their projects, and to create a friendly, inclusive and supportive creative network throughout Glasgow. We host free fortnightly writing sessions, where members can come together, write, socialise, and develop their craft in the company of other writers.
