Kelly McFarling rolls out thick, lingering grooves, and the vibe is feminine. She plays with a lush six-piece band that is heavy on vocals and harmony. Informed by the early 90s radio stations of Atlanta, GA, McFarling writes songs anchored in melody and potent in observation. She began writing and playing original songs in the Bay Area as an adult and quickly became known for a dynamic live show of well-crafted songs, delivered with emotion. She has spent the last two decades in the Bay releasing music and earning a reputation as a versatile vocalist and songwriter with a spacious and tasty band. Think Bonnie Raitt, JJ Cale, and Dottie West navigating late stage capitalism on a continental shelf.
Her current iteration is made up of Bay Area beloveds; Kelly McFarling (vox, keys, guitar), Andrew Brennan (guitar), Tim Marcus (pedal steel), Nick Cobbett (drums), Brittany Powers (vocals, guitar), and Danny Vitali (bass, vocals).
Her latest release, Bed of a River (2022), was recorded in Richmond, VA, at Spacebomb studios, and finished at home in California. The album is a collaboration with Andrew Brennan in writing, arranging, playing, recording, and living. The record features the Spacebomb house band: Cameron Ralston (bass), Alan Parker (guitars), Pinson Chancelle (drums) Daniel Clark(keys), with production by Matthew E White. Additional recording with Jeremy Harris at Panoramic Studios in Stinson Beach, CA, with Nick Cobbett (drums), Tim Marcus (pedal steel), Danny Vitali (bass,) Brittany Powers (vocals), and Jeremy Harris (Keys).

McFarling has played in and toured with various projects in the Bay Area and beyond, including Y La Bamba, Skyway Man, Scott Hirsch, Sonny and the Sunsets, Goodnight, Texas, Terry Reid, Con Brio, and more.

Meernaa is the moniker of LA-based musician Carly Bond, blending elements of R&B, jazz, psychedelic rock, folk, art rock, and pop to create a genre-defying sound. Her music delves into themes of emotional evolution, personal growth, and introspection.
In June 2019, they released their debut album, Heart Hunger, drawing inspiration from Bond's personal experiences and family history. Their follow-up album, So Far So Good, was released on October 6, 2023, through Keeled Scales. Pitchfork describes So Far So Good as "a more soulful, introspective collection of folk songs whose fingerpicked guitar, gauzy synth lines, and swooping string arrangements diffuse like smoke."
Meernaa has actively toured, performing at various venues and festivals, and they've shared the stage with artists like Deep Sea Diver, Helado Negro, Nilüfer Yanya, Sam Evian, Miya Folick, and Luke Temple. Carly Bond also co-owns Altamira Sound, a recording studio in Alhambra, California, where she engineers and produces music.
