Kent Burnside, the eldest grandson of the legendary bluesman R. L. Burnside, will be performing at Kellerman Concerts Sunday, August 17, from 2:30-4:30. "Born into the renowned Burnside family, with roots embedded in the Hill Country Blues tradition, Kent is a torchbearer for the genre, blending traditions with his own contemporary flair . .. . Kent developed a unique sound that seamlessly fuses the raw, emotive power of traditional blues with modern influences." Kent has toured with Buddy Guy, performed for Samuel L. Jackson to help Jackson prepare for his role in the movie Black Snake Moon, and has worked with Dan Aykroyd (a huge fan) on Blues Brothers Shows.
Doors open at 2:00 for this 2:30 show. Tickets are $20 at the door or $15 if you make an advanced reservation (call 573-270-1009 or [email protected]). The venue is 401 Independence.
Our friends at Minglewood Brewery will have beer and wine for sale.
