Keith (banjo) is a singer/songwriter who started out as a solo artist touring Folk Clubs and bringing his music to festivals and venues in the UK and Europe. More recently he was best known in the UK as the front man of “Coup de Grass”.
In Australia he led “Treacle Line”, the zany but incredibly popular bluegrass trio, touring for some 15 years topping bills at country venues and shows in NSW, Queensland and Victoria. Keith has since led an Americana/Country Rock five-piece band based in Cambridge.
Phil Milner (bass) – latterly known as Tarzan in “Coup de Grass” – Ace bassist and master of harmony, Phil is an experienced session player and singer, able to take on anything from Bluegrass to Soul, Jazz, Blues and even Hard Rock. He also toured all over Britain on the Folk circuit. Over time, Phil has played everywhere from India to South America.
Nigel Fear (guitar) – nothing to fear about him – Nigel is an accomplished guitarist and pedal steel player and thoroughly good chap. He has played in several bands local to Cambridge, and spent a number of years as a professional musician in Spain where he played with the resident band at the Casino de Ibiza backing many well-known artists.
Co-headlining tonight we have local Folk/Country/Irish combo, The Tangler’s Irregulars. Two of the club’s organising team – Brian Burke and Shelagh McConnell- are joined by Dave Stacey on banjo and vocals, Frank Corr on guitar, mandolin and vocals, Kevin Naughton on flute, whistles and vocals, plus whichever of the wide pool of musicians who make up the Irregulars are able to join us on the night.
Free entry. Doors open 7:00pm. Bound to be a fun night!
