Keith Hopewell in conversation with John Costi

As we investigate the relationship of the spray-paint mediums holistic connection with Hopewell’s sound & music production. The talk will also look at the functionality of spray paint practice in general, from it’s grass roots conception to the mediums accessibility in the public sphere & it’s adoption into contemporary art practice.

Keith is joined by John Costi (b.1987). Costi's work draws on his Cypriot and Irish heritage, and experience of growing up in London. He creates sculptures, installations, paintings and performance. Often improvised and informed by chance, the work lives in the social sphere. He is interested in dismantling hierarchies of art experience, turning passive audiences into active participants. Costi graduated from Central St Martins MA Fine Art in 2022, where he now teaches and lectures.
