Ovo je plesni laboratorij koji prioritizira igru tijela i istražuje potencijal (političkog) iscjeljenja kroz plesanje sa drugima. Radionicom se pitamo kako aktualni ratovi i političke krize utječu na naša tijela, moć zamišljanja i plesa. Kroz podršku ideja i vrijednosti anarhizma, crnih i spekulativnih feminizama, zapatizma, antikapitalizma i naših življenih iskustava, sudionici će u prostoru plesnog studija nalaziti kako re-pregovarati i razvijati drugačije (društvene)odnose. Namjera je i da se sjevernoameričkocentrični pogled susretne sa onim istočnoeuropskim, eks-jugoslovenskim i eks-socijalističkim.
Možemo li dekomodificirati tijela, moć zamišljanja i plesa? Možemo li se igrati sa svime? Može li ples alkemizirati štetu koju sa sobom unosimo u studio?
Koristit ćemo kontakt improvizaciju (CI) kao jedan od izvora, ne da bi ponavljali njene tehnike, stil ili ideologiju, već da bi prioritizirali rad i igru improviziranog plesa u dodiru - tjelesnom i energetskom - u svim našim odnosima, uključujući sa drugim plesačima, prostorom, pretcima, budućnošću i ne-ljudskime. Plesati ćemo s predmetima, kroz lažno iscjeljivanje, ne znajući, neviđeno i sa užicima i mukama izvođenja.
Radionica je otvorena svima, bez obzira na prethodno iskustvo. Dio je LABa koji organizira kolektiv SAUNA u suradnji sa PoslijeSvijetom / Improspekcijama i Keithom Hennessyjem.

Ovaj program dio je festivalskog fokusa na izvedbenu improvizacijsku praksu iz koje je festival i izrastao prije 20 godina. Na poticaj nove generacije izvedbenih umjetnica okupljenih u kolektiv SAUNA, Performance Situation Room: Improzivacija u PoslijeSvijetu razmišlja, osjeća i izvodi improvizaciju u PoslijeSvijetu. Program okuplja umjetnike različitih generacija kroz radionički tjedan i vikend program izvedbi u kojima sudjeluju polaznici LABa, Keith i slovenska umjetnica Ida Hiršenfelder, te diplomanti Odsjeka plesa, ADU.
Program se održava u okviru festivala Improspekcije // PoslijeSvijet 2025, u produkciji Objekta plesa, u suradnji s kolektivom SAUNA i umjetnikom Keithom Hennessyjem, uz podršku Plesnog centra TALA, u suradnji s Movement Research kroz GPS/Global Practice Sharing program (financiran od Trust for Mutual Understanding), te u suradnji s UO Divert kroz EU projekt Life Long Burning (Kreativna Europa). Program je financijski podržan i od programa za mlade umjetnike Grada Zagreba te Zaklade Kultura nova.

Keith Hennessy: Dancing as Political Healing / Workshop

This is a dancing laboratory that prioritizes creative bodily play and explores the (political) healing potential of dancing together. This workshop questions how the current wars and political crises impact our bodies, imaginations, and dancing. Supported by ideas from anarchism, Black- and speculative feminisms, Zapatismo, anti-capitalism, and our own embodied experiences, participants will explore the potentials of the dance studio to re-negotiate and develop new practices of social relations. And of course let's complicate my North American centric ideas with Balkan, ex-Yugo, and Eastern European knowledge and practice.
How do the current wars and political crises impact our bodies, imaginations, dancing? Can we decommodify dancing, healing, and critique? Can we play with everything? How can dancing alchemize the political harms that we bring into the studio?
We will use Contact Improvisation (CI) as one of our resources, not to replicate CI techniques, style or sociality but to prioritize the work and play of improvised dancing in contact – physical and energetic – with all our relations, including other dancers, the place, ancestors, futures and the non-human. We will dance with objects, fake healing, not knowing, the unseen, and joys and troubles of performing.
The workshop is open to everyone, regardless of previous experience.
Keith Hennessy, is a frolicker, imperfectionist, and witch working in the fields of dance, performance, activism, affordable housing, sexuality, and teaching. Always learning through improvisation and collaboration, Hennessy’s work is interdisciplinary and experimental. Based in San Francisco for over 40 years, Hennessy tours internationally.

This program is part of the festival's focus on performance improvisation practice, which the festival has grown from over the past 20 years. Inspired by a new generation of performing artists gathered in the collective SAUNA, this year’s Performance Situation Room thinks, feels, and performs improvisation in the Afterworld context. The program brings together artists of different generations through a week of workshops and a weekend of performances
The program is part of the Improspekcije / PoslijeSvijet 2025 festival, produced by Object of Dance, in collaboration with the collective SAUNA and artist Keith Hennessy, supported by the TALA Dance Center, in collaboration with Movement Research through the GPS/Global Practice Sharing program (funded by the Trust for Mutual Understanding), and in collaboration with UO Divert through the EU project Life Long Burning (Creative Europe). The program is financially supported by the City of Zagreb’s Youth Arts Fund and the Kultura Nova Foundation.
